Just last week Hugh Grant (A Very English Scandalrevealed plans for a Four Weddings and a Funeral follow-up, and here he is again making headlines with news that he’s teaming up with director Guy Ritchie for the forthcoming crime flick, Toff Guys.

Grant is the latest addition to a growing stellar cast, made up of Matthew McConaughey, Kate Beckinsale and Henry Golding. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he’s set to take on the role of a British tabloid reporter. He does play smarmy well, aka Daniel Cleaver in Bridget Jones’s Diary.

We can see him pulling this character off without much effort at all.

The other three actors’ roles have yet to be announced, but we have an inkling of who might play who based on the film’s synopsis: “Pic is set at the intersection of Sexy Beast and Downton Abbey, and follows a very English drug lord attempting to cash out on his highly profitable empire by selling it off to a dynasty of Oklahoma billionaires.”

It’s kind of like the game connect the dots. McConaughey is American and originally from the South, and can step into the Oklahoma billionaire role pretty easily. Golding and Beckinsale are both Brits, so, one of them might fall into the “English drug lord” slot.

Planning for the film is still in the early stages, so, there could be a changeup before production begins this fall.

In the meantime, if you’re now in the mood for more Guy Ritchie movies, his live-action adaptation of Disney’s Aladdin is currently in theaters. And, you can always backtrack and watch some of his earlier mafia movies streaming online, like 1998’s Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and 2000’s Snatch.
