Doctor Who alum Jenna Coleman has posted a photo of her reunion with one of her Victoria co-stars — and we’re not talking about Tom Hughes or Rufus Sewell.
No, the actor Jenna was overjoyed at seeing again was Almonzo, the white horse she was often seen riding in the first season of the royal drama.
Posting on Instagram yesterday (February 20), she wrote “#Reunited #almonzo #VictoriaSeason2:”
She and Almonzo were on the set for season two of the popular period drama, which will continue to dramatize the early years of Queen Victoria’s reign.
Anyone who’s seen season one knows it covered the first three years of her reign, from 1837, when the 18-year-old princess suddenly inherited the crown on the death of her uncle King William IV, to 1840, when she married Prince Albert (played by Jenna’s real-life beau Tom Hughes) and their first child was born.
The new season is expected to pick up where the former one left off, and cover a period that included assassination attempts, a general election, and the start of the Great Famine in Ireland.
And Jenna, for one, is confident there’s enough history to draw on for a few more seasons still.
“There’s obviously a great amount of potential, we’ve covered in series one the first three years of her reign,” she recently told Digital Spy.
“We end the series with the first birth and that’s the first of nine children to come. It’s a story waiting to be told. We’ve not even got to the Great Exhibition , there’s a lot to cover.”
There certainly is. Filming began last week, with the show’s official Twitter account giving us an intriguing sneak peek at the cast shooting an upcoming scene in the palace:

Almonzo wasn’t the only four-legged friend waiting for Jenna on set either. This is Tori, the 10-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who plays Victoria’s dog, Dash.
