The full trailer for Ghost in the Shell, a reworking of the iconic Japanese anime series, will be released on November 13.

But for now, we have a teaser trailer.

We only get a brief look at Scarlett Johansson as “The Major” (Major Motoko Kusangi) because she’s invisible for the first bit. The special ops, human-cyborg policewoman is able to evade criminals wearing her thermoptic suit.

But, no worries, she reveals herself in the end:

If this seems familiar to you, you may have seen a similar scene in the 1995 animated movie by the same name:

Back in April we got a first look of Johansson in the role made famous in the Kodansha Comics magna series. With the character being Japanese, it opened up a dialogue about whitewashing in movie making.

The official trailer will premiere in Tokyo, Japan, on November 13. We shall see what the reception is.

What do you think so far?
