Okay, take a breath. Are you steady, now? Yes, it’s true, Absolutely Fabulous has seen its prime according to co-creator Jennifer Saunders, and the film that came out earlier this year is the last of its kind.

But, on a lighter note, she delivered the news in such a funny way, that it has us thinking, “Everything is going to be okay.” While we may not be getting any more of Edina’s antics, we trust that we can look forward to more Saunders in some form.

This interview with the Daily Mail alone had us smirking in delight at her candor, with Saunders saying, “I’m not doing anything more with Ab Fab. That’s it.”

If it wasn’t clear, she mapped it out, reiterating, “That. Is. It.”

Okay, Jennifer, we see what you’re saying. But why?

She must have read our mind, elaborating on the above by saying, “I can’t see the point of doing anything else with it, really… if someone suggested Ab Fab: The Musical? We’d be so old. This is like taking geriatrics out now.”

But it’s not like she’s retiring or anything. She has plans for new projects, saying, “It just takes so long. There’s lots of other stuff I’d like to do. Plus, I’d like to spend time with my grandchildren. So, if I did Ab Fab as well that would just stop me doing anything new, or thinking of any other ideas or having a different job or whatever.”

Fair enough. We get you.

She hints at a new sitcom in the works, providing a brief synopsis: “Gentrification. Hipsters versus the old East End, that sort of idea. I always wanted to do a Rising Damp-style sitcom about a house full of people, of all sorts.”

We could get into that. Would Edina and Patsy live in the house? Oh, yeah, no more Ab Fab. Oof.

Is it going to take a minute for this all to sink in?
