The live-action version of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast has been in the works for some time, but so far it’s been next to impossible to get much of a look-in.

Stars Emma Watson, Luke Evans, and Josh Gad have all been enthusing on Twitter about their roles, while a 90-second clip released in May put the “tease” in teaser trailer. Other than that? Nada.

On Friday night (August 26) however, producer Jack Morrissey shared some concept art and a few photos from the set, including one of Dan Stevens, who stars (rather implausibly, we might add) as the Beast.

In the photo Dan is dressed as the Beast’s original incarnation the Prince, though whether it is from before he is turned into a hideous beast as punishment for his cold-hearted and selfish ways, or after he’s managed to win the love of Belle (Emma Watson), we can’t tell – though if you’ve been missing those blond Matthew Crawley locks, you’re in luck. Here he is:

Talk about dashing. And is it just us, or does that shirt have a distinctly Seinfeld-vibe to it?

Morrissey’s Facebook album features 25 photos from the production of the film, including a photo of the early concept art for Lumière and Cogsworth (voiced by Ewan McGregor and Ian McKellen respectively), and a B-roll still of what appears to be the inside of a tavern and the back of Gaston’s (Luke Evans) head.

It’s not much, but given the secrecy shrouding this movie, we’ll take it.

Watch out for Beauty and the Beast in March 2017.
