Welcome to this week’s Doctor Who‘s Day roundup, a collection of Time Lord trivia and Gallifreyan gubbins we happened across during a week-long strong across the internet.

And we begin this week with a startling thing. Karen Gillan, the former Amy Pond, mother of Melody Pond and general delight to all Doctor Who fans, had to pull out of her scheduled appearance at Indiana Comic Con a few days ago. But rather than simply make heartfelt apologies, as almost anyone else in her position would do, she opted to create a virtual consolation prize:

Naturally, the Gillan fandom had the perfect song all ready to go, namely “Unchained Melody” (which is a reference to the name of Amy’s daughter, DO YOU SEE?).

Here’s the performance in all its glory:

Here is it! Unchained Melody by Britney Spears.

And here’s what else has been going on in space and time this week:

Jenna Coleman made Pearl Mackie feel welcome in the TARDIS:

• Which comes hot on the heels of this exciting development:

• And Matt Lucas is firmly on board too:

Doctor Who could win an Emmy:

• Davros, celebrated in animation by Tom Saunders:

• And if you’re wondering, Davros who? The TARDIS has all the facts:

• The Zarbi (insectoid enemies of the First Doctor) were once made into puppets….

…and those puppets were utilized in a Beatles spoof. Perfectly sensible behavior for the times:

• Wouldn’t it be great if all Daleks had a remote control?

• Extra information from the story in which we first meet these adorable creatures:

Arthur Darvill had a birthday:

• For the Doctor and Rose, it’s ALWAYS adventure time:

• If you can’t answer this question from memory, the quiz is redundant:

• This works rather well. Here’s a fan-made video cutting from Torchwood’s “The End of Days” to Doctor Who’s “Utopia” and filling in more of Captain Jack’s timeline:

• Which dastardly rogue Time Lord fits you best? Only your trigger finger can decide:

• This is rather moving. It’s a collection of the Doctor’s most introspective moments from TheGaroStudios:

• Twelve is undoubtedly the rockin’ Doctor:

• And finally, a fan-made clip that answers this question: What if the First Doctor’s tenure was treated to a movie-style trailer?
