Tom Hiddleston (The Night Manager) was on hand today (May 27) to help honor the winners of BBC Radio 2’s 500 Words writing competition for youths.

When host Chris Evans (Top Gear), creator of the writing initiative, invited Hiddleston to the stage, he asked the actor what he wanted to be when he was a kid. Hiddleston dove into a story about his first school play ever, based on The Wind in the Willows, in which he played Mr. Toad. His role called for him to sing a song about a motor car. It seems like Hiddleston had more to say on the topic in the below clip, but as soon as he mentions a song, well …

Without missing a beat, Evans asks him, “Would you like to sing it now?”

Hiddleston admits to Evans and the crowd, “I walked … right into that one.”
