Tom Hanks returns as Robert Langdon in director Ron Howard‘s Inferno.
We were first introduced to Langdon in the film adaptation of Dan Brown‘s The Da Vinci Code in 2006, followed by Angels and Demons in 2009 (but in actuality, the novel Angels and Demons was released first).
In the third installment of the franchise Langdon wakes up in a hospital with no memory. He meets a doctor, played by Felicity Jones, who he hopes will be able to help him get past his amnesia. Unfortunately, that’s not his only concern.
In the below trailer Langdon is faced with a lose-lose decision. According to the narrator, there is a switch: if it is flipped, half the world’s population will die; and if nothing is done, leaving the switch in its position, all of mankind will be obliterated in 100 years.
