Filming on Sherlock season four is officially underway, with the three-part series set to premiere in 2017.

We last saw Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Dr. Watson (Martin Freeman) in the 2016 special The Abominable Bride, making a visit to Victorian London. Both leads have returned for the fourth season, along with co-creator and star Mark Gatiss as Mycroft Holmes and Amanda Addington as Mary.

Just today (May 16) it was announced Toby Jones has signed on to play a villain, reports BBC News. What villain you ask? Well, it wouldn’t be fun if everything was on the table this early in production.

But co-creator Steven Moffat did have some kind words to welcome Jones to the Sherlock set, saying, “Delighted to have Toby Jones on board, bringing to life one of (Sir Arthur Conan) Doyle‘s finest villains.”

Gatiss also chimed in, saying, “We’re thrilled to welcome one of our finest actors to the Sherlock family. I know Toby will embrace the part with true relish!”

The Sherlock Twitter page made it official, too:

We recently saw Jones in the first season of Wayward Pines as Dr. Jenkins. You can listen for him as Wilkins in the forthcoming Alice Through the Looking Glass, hitting theaters on May 27, 2016. He’s already completed filming on The Coldest City, starring opposite Charlize Theron, with the release date yet to be announced.

Do you have any guesses on which villain he might be playing?
