Doctor Who - 'Hell Bent' (Photo: BBC)

Welcome to this week’s Doctor Who‘s Day roundup, in which we thrust as many Whovian delights into Santa’s sack as we can fit in (and that’s a lot, given that it is bigger on the inside) and then distribute them across the internet for all the good little boys, girls and Oods.

And we begin this week with a song. Ever since the Doctor serenaded Clara in that roadside diner, musical Whovians have been creating tributes to their friendship in song form.

This is the most recent, and it’s lovely: “Memories Become Stories” by Sebastian J. Brook

Here’s what else has been going on in space and time this week:

• An introduction to this year’s Christmas special: “The Husbands of River Song”

• And it’s headstrong baddy, King Hydroflax:

• Pictures and a report from the premiere:

• And the following quote from Alex Kingston:

“It took me a few days to gauge Peter – but that’s part of the story as well. Becoming more familiar with who Peter has created as the Doctor was not only part of my learning journey – it’s been part of River’s.

“The script is great – it’s sort of like the old slapstick movies with Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn. That sort of screwball quality to it.

“They’re equals, absolute equals. River is never the sort of companion who’s asking questions, she always think she knows best. It’s a superb script and it’s a wonderful ending.”

• “Of course, the real question is, where did I get the cup of tea? Answer? I’m the Doctor. Just accept it.”
