This might not be a thing. But it would be rather good if it was, and that seems a decent enough reason to mention it, especially after The Hollywood Reporter has gone to such trouble to say that it probably is going to be a thing.

So, Godzilla director Gareth Edwards is working on a stand-alone movie set in the Star Wars universe, as written by Chris Weitz (The Golden Compass, Cinderella) from an original draft by Gary Whitta (After Earth). And the Reporter has some insider information that suggests Felicity Jones is the actress Lucasfilm and Disney are most interested in for the female lead.

The movie is due to come out in December 2016, and of course everything is extremely secret at the moment. In fact if you wish to see Felicity in action before then, there’s True Story on the way—a crime and journalism story in which she co-stars with Jonah Hill and James Franco—and then A Monster Calls, a fantasy movie in which a boy asks for help from a tree monster when he discovers his mother has a terminal illness.
