Thanks to the tenacity of Outlander fans, the Anglo Fan Favorites tournament has a new king and queen.

Caitriona Balfe, the Irish-born female lead of Starz’s time-travel romance Outlander, has claimed the women’s crown from last year’s champion Alex Kingston, winning 78 to 22 percent with more than 600,000 votes cast. She follows in the formidable footsteps of her Outlander co-star Sam Heughan, who won this year’s men’s tournament and left fans a heartfelt video message.

On Outlander, Balfe plays Claire, an ex-military nurse in post-World War II Britain who, after six years of separation, reunites with her husband for a romantic trip in the Scottish Higlands. However, their rendezvous comes to a halt when Claire is suddenly jettisoned back to 18th century Scotland

Kingston takes silver in this year’s tournament, while her fellow Doctor Who graduate Billie Piper eked out a third-place victory over Natalie Dormer.

Balfe joins previous winners Kingston (2013), Katie McGrath (2012), and Helena Bonham Carter (2011).
