2011 runner-up JK Rowling has had a brilliant year, proving to the naysayers that she can pen successful novels without a wizard in sight: 2012’s The Casual Vacancy, has been a tremendous hit, and she rocked the publishing world when she was revealed to be “Robert Galbraith,” author of the very un-Potterlike The Cuckoo’s Calling, a crime novel that has been flying off shelves. But her first-round competitor can lay claim to an equally eventful 2013 for, well, obvious reasons. Who should move on to Round 2: the the reigning queen of best-selling fiction or the Duchess?
