At long last it’s finally the weekend, which means you have another chance to play Find the Brit at the multiplex. This weekend, you’re sure to be a winner because there are plenty of British actors to be spotted.

Oscar-winner Rachel Weisz pops up as a megalomaniacal witch in Oz the Great and Powerful, the big budget, 3-D, Sam Raimi-directed film that’s a prequel to the much loved The Wizard of Oz. The London-born actress’ co-stars include James Franco, Michelle Williams and Mila Kunis.

Fast-rising British star Dominic Cooper (who will appear as Ian Fleming in BBC AMERICA’s upcoming drama) sports a tattoo of a big cross on his neck in Dead Man Down, a moody revenge thriller. He plays an ambitious member of a criminal crew in New York alongside Irishman Colin Farrell, who is the movie’s conflicted hero.

In Emperor, the cast is mostly American (Tommy Lee Jones and Matthew Fox) and Japanese but Brit Peter Webber directed the historical drama.  His previous credits include Girl with a Pearl Earring (2003) and Hannibal Rising (2007). Emperor is about American general Douglas MacArthur (Jones) who must decide the fate of Japan’s Emperor Hirohito after World War II.

Brit-filled films that held over in theaters from last week and before include Jack the Giant Slayer (Ewan McGregor, Bill Nighy and Nicholas Hoult); Stoker (Matthew Goode, plus Aussies Nicole Kidman, Mia Wasikowska and Jacki Weaver); Side Effects (Jude Law and Catherine Zeta-Jones); and Beautiful Creatures (Emma Thompson).
