3. W.E. — directed by Madonna

It’s no coincidence that Madonna’s second directorial effort goes nationwide the same weekend that she’ll shimmy-shake before 130 million drunken football fans watching the Super Bowl. (Nothing is a coincidence in Madonna-world.) Her film, W.E., brings the Wallis and Edward story to the big screen once again, but with an Hours-esque twist: British actress Andrea Riseborough plays the controversial lover of King Edward in the 1930s, while Abbie Cornish fronts a parallel story as a married woman searching for meaning in 1998. Watch Asha Leo‘s interview with Riseborough above.
