Gerry Rafferty

Sad news in the music world this afternoon: The Guardian reports that Gerry Rafferty has passed away.

The 63-year-old Scottish singer/songwriter is the voice behind several radio hits of the 1970s, including chart favorite “Baker Street,” which is featured on his best-selling 1978 LP, City to City. He also co-wrote the Stealers Wheel hit, “Stuck in the Middle With You,” as heard in Quentin Tarantino‘s Reservoir Dogs.

Rafferty had endured alcohol problems for decades. In November, he was hospitalized with what doctors suspected was liver failure.

RIP Gerry.
