Shaun Ryder‘s time in the Australian jungle on the UK series of I’m a Celebrity …Get Me Out of Here is now over. The foul-mouthed Happy Mondays frontman was the runner up behind former X Factor star Stacey Solomon during Saturday’s season-closing episode.

During his 21 days down under, Ryder, alongside 12 others, competed in a handful of odd challenges for a charity cash prize. One of his fierce competitors was Gillian McKeith, the former host of BBC America’s You Are What You Eat. McKeith’s never-ending melodrama offered TV watchers and (bloggers) plenty of entertaining material to chew on. Let us not forget her fainting spell and the shocking declaration that she was pregnant (which was totally untrue).

“I felt she was the greatest disgrace to the female race,” Ryder revealed to The Sun. “I cracked after days of somebody being too self-important. She was banging at my head. I wanted to rip her head off, set her on fire and bury her in the f***ing jungle.”

Ryder’s remarks are just as entertaining as McKeith’s over-the-top antics. At the end of the day, he says he likes her and credits her witty ways.

“Gillian’s saving grace is her sense of humor,” he added. “Without that she would be f****d and her own husband would murder her… “I don’t hate her, I like her. But I don’t think we’ll have her round the house.”
