As the saying goes, you win some, you lose some. For football star David Beckham, such a cliché isn’t going to cut it right now. He’s likely to be sulking somewhere over his native England losing to Russia for the FIFA World Cup host spot for 2018.

Chin up, Becks. Keep your eyes on the real prize: an invite to Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s lavish 2011 nuptials. Victoria really wants to go!

According to The Daily Mail, Posh and Becks are keen to be at Westminster Abbey on April 29. For the last several years, Beckham and Prince William have developed a friendly business relationship, as William serves as President of the UK Football Association. And he seems like a nice enough guy that he won’t slight the Beckhams for England losing out on the World Cup bid.

Another celebrity looking to get in on some of the royal wedding action is American rapper Snoop Dogg. Yesterday, he took to Twitter to share his slick new single “Wet” and dedicated it to Wills himself.

“UK twizzles, just heard BBC Radio 1 gonna be playing tha new single #WET soon!! Tune in! This song is tha one for Prince William’s stag do!”

As we previously shared, it’s unlikely that U.S. President Barack Obama will be in attendance, but Sir Paul McCartney could very well be there. Sir Elton John is hopeful, too. He recently joked that he’ll be “busking outside” Westminster Abbey. Har har.
