Pete Doherty goes hi-tech? What? According to NME, the Babyshambles and former Libertines scalawag has a new blog and website to share with his legions of fans. is still in its early stages — its present front page is quite lovely, complete with a ivy-covered brick building that’s seemingly aglow with the morning sunshine. Click over the window draped in the Union Jack and Doherty is there to greet you. Turn up the volume, too, for some slightly annoying crow cackling and other racket from an elephant, a cat, and a trashcan. It’s all oddly poetic.

Doherty’s new blog only has one post so far and he apparently has plans to include some fresh video before the year’s end. It’ll all be highly entertaining I’m sure. In the meantime, Doherty is keeping busy with a new jewelry line (WHAT??). A third Babyshambles album isn’t far from Doherty’s mind either. He might just enlist the help of his former Libertines mate Carl Barât.

After turning up in court to face cocaine possession charges late last week, Doherty is slated to join fellow UK acts such as The Kooks, Billy Bragg and The Big Pink today (December 6) to record a “silent” single for the Cage Against the Machine campaign. The star-studded project looks to thwart the winner of the The X Factor‘s debut song from taking over the UK charts at Christmas.
