For the last year, Carey Mulligan and Shia LaBeouf have become one of Hollywood's most beloved couples. The classy pair isn't known for indulging in massive public displays of affection and they've appeared mostly solo on the red carpet. Sadly, it seems that Mulligan and LaBeouf have cooled things off, as the BAFTA Award-winning actress has plans to return to her native England.

The Daily Telegraph reports that 25-year-old Mulligan informed friends during the UK premiere of her latest film, the psychological drama Never Let Me Go, "I'm moving back to England: it's a long story."

Mulligan remains mum on what happened between the two, whose romance took shape on the set of Oliver Stone's Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps last summer. "I am spending some more time here at the moment," she added. "Just spending time with my family, really."

Here's hoping the split isn't a permanent one. But let's have a look at where it all began, shall we?
