Based on the familiar MINI Hatch, MINI E is a two-seater because the space normally used by rear passengers is reserved for a lithium-ion battery. This state-of-the-art rechargeable battery unit combines high output with ample storage capacity and a remarkable power output. It has a maximum capacity of 35 kilowatt hours (kWh) and transmits energy to the electric motor as a direct current at a nominal 380 volts. It comprises 5,088 cells grouped into 48 modules, which are packaged into three battery elements arranged compactly inside the MINI E.“

Do you know how much the Mini E will cost. It seems too good to be true stats for an electric car ofr the same price as a Mini. Price, in my opinion, is the biggest problem in my opinion for cars that run on anything besides gas. There prices cannot match there gasoline counterparts and I think it will be the downfall of the Chevy Volt, that and how long it can last on a charge. By the way, I voted for the hydrogen after watching James’ review of the Honda FCX Clarity.

The mini is a test, not due to be on the market, similar to the 1 series EV which is also in test…. not going to happen for a while… i would love to use one of these for my daily commute
