It’s November 1537, and a gloom hangs over England following the death of Queen Jane. King Henry has shut himself away in grief, and his inattention has made the court vulnerable to enemies of the crown—a series of mysterious murders has been targeting individuals closer and closer to power.
While Princess Mary and Lady Bryan take care of the king’s infant son Edward, Thomas Cromwell, dismayed by the king’s lack of interest in his affairs, begins looking for the one thing to bring new life to Henry—a new wife.
