Full Recap

Bear is air lifted into the treacherous Sanyan mountains in Siberia. He leaps from his helicopter and rolls down a snow cornice. Bear meets the Tuvans — yak herders descended from Genghis Khan who have lived there for 20,000 years, and learns some survival techniques from these cold climate experts. He drinks freshly-killed yak's blood, raw liver and an eyeball as he skins the animal on which the Tuvans are so dependent for warmth and food. After sable-hunting with an 85-year-old Tuvan hunter named Seret, he builds a shelter to bed down for the night in temperatures that plummet below minus 30 degrees. The next morning, he is confronted by obstacles like having to traverse an ice lake, clamber through a rock field and use his climbing skills to navigate through the ice-bound paths snaked through the mountains. Bear survives all this on the meager sustenance of a few bugs and insects found in the icy terrain.
