Every year, half a million Americans visit Costa Rica to explore some of the most exciting and environmentally important wilderness in the world. Last year, 67 visitors had to be rescued by the Red Cross. Bear Grylls parachutes in the rainforest of the Costa Rica's Osa peninsula. His challenge is to make his way to civilization with just a knife and a water bottle. Bear's journey takes him up 100 ft high trees and down 120 ft waterfalls, through secondary jungle and mangrove swamps. Along the way he faces snakes, mosquitos and dangerous river currents.
