An accomplished theater actor, Matt Smith (The Eleventh Doctor) appeared in West End productions of Swimming with Sharks and That Face. On television, he appeared as Jim Taylor in BBC productions of The Ruby in the Smoke and The Shadow in the North. His big break came with the role of Danny Foster in the BBC's political drama, Party Animals. He has also guest-starred in an episode of Secret Diary of a Call Girl, in which he acted opposite Billie Piper (Rose Tyler, from the previous era of Doctor Who).
