Kit Harington and Alicia Vikander star in Vera Brittain’s Testament of Youth. (BBC Films)

Game of ThronesKit Harington agreed not to cut his luscious curly locks for his role of Jon Snow, but somehow he got around that commitment, debuting his clean-cut look in the period film Testament of Youth, as seen in the new trailer via RadioTimes.

The film adaptation pulls from Vera Brittain’s memoir of her life and experiences during and post-WWI. The story revolves around a coming-of-age love affair between Oxford student Brittain (Alicia Vikander) and soldier Roland Leighton (Harington) whose youth are stolen during wartime.

Leighton lovingly says to Brittain in the trailer, “Vera, let’s agree, no more fear.” She replies, not so convincingly, confirming his sentiment, “No more fear.”

The cast is rounded out with Dominic West, Emily Watson, Miranda Richardson, Colin Morgan and Hayley Atwell.

Testament of Youth hits U.S. theaters in 2015.
