British actor Dan Stevens, best known for playing Matthew Crawley on PBS’ Golden Globe-winning series “Downton Abbey,” lends his voice to the new two-hour “Planet Earth” special, “The Making of Planet Earth.”
“I’ve been admiring Attenborough documentaries all my life,” Stevens says of “Planet Earth” and the new special. “I’m always watching them in my downtime and I like to take a box set with me if I have to be away from home for a while. ‘Planet Earth’ was such an extraordinary series and the ‘Making Of’… is fascinating: the creatures and stories behind the camera are just as fascinating as those in front. It’s a bit of a dream come true to be a part of the team in some small way.”
Stevens other acting credits include the BBC TV series, “Sense & Sensibility,” “Dracula,” and “The Line of Beauty.” On the London stage, he played opposite Dame Judi Dench and Peter Bowles in the prized Noël Coward play, “Hay Fever.”
Sir David Attenborough is one of the world’s best-known and admired wildlife film-makers. He is the voice behind the 11-part ‘Planet Earth’ series and the four BBC America specials.
