Britt Goodwin: Handball

Britt Goodwin, a left winger, has been playing handball since she was 10. The Norwegian-born athlete has sports in her blood, as her father, Steve, is a professional footballer who played for Norwich City and Southend United in the 1970s. In 2005, Goodwin appeared on the Norwegian version of “Big Brother” and took home the top prize of £100,000 ($155,110). She synced up with Britain’s team two years later.

Who’s your Olympic idol and why?
[Jamaican sprinter] Usain Bolt because he’s the fastest man on two legs.

If you weren’t competing in your sport, which one do you think you’d like to try?
Swimming or Tennis

What is your favorite thing about the Games?
Everything — it’s the greatest show on earth.

What do you love the most about your sport?
It’s fast and furious.

What do you hope people take away from seeing the London Games hosted in your home country?
How great Great Britain is and how friendly the people are.

Outside of competition, what are you looking to do in London during the Games?
Hang out in the village and get to know other athletes.

Aside from your sport, what else do you love to do?
Shopping, listen to music, hang out with my friends, and traveling.

What special talent do you wish you had?
I wish I could sing.

Favorite British band?
Queen — they’re best band that has ever existed!

Favorite British actor/actress?
Robert Pattinson! He is hot and I love “Twilight.”

Favorite British TV show?
The Graham Norton Show! Graham is funny and he always has great people on his show that make me laugh.
