Black Pearl, a seafood restaurant in New York City, is struggling to get out of debt and has turned to Gordon for help.
With three different owners running the kitchen, the restaurant lacks consistency in both food and service. The staff is frustrated by the lack of direction, which leads to chaos and miscommunication during dinner service leaving everyone frustrated.
David, one of the owners, referred to by the staff as a “know-it-all,” is resistant to change and questions Gordon’s every move. As the re-launch approaches, David still doesn’t believe in any of the changes Gordon has suggested leading to an all-out brawl.
