Joel Johnson

Joel Johnson somehow scammed his way into a job writing about gadgets almost ten years ago, first at Gizmodo, then for sites and magazines as varied as WIRED and Playboy. He also once ate lunch at the New York Times.

As an editor-at-large for Gizmodo, he’s traveled around the world to report stories as wild as John McAfee’s adventures in the Belizean jungle, to seeing first-hand the assembly lines where iPhones are made in China. Joel also loves other nerdly pursuits, like competitive video games, virtual reality, and adventure riding on his motorcycle (where ‘adventure’ means getting from Brooklyn to Manhattan).
