On a Friday night, Alex is video chatting with his kids in his new temporary home—an apartment of Stephen’s overrun with redecorators—when one of the boys lets slip the shattering news that their mom has a new boyfriend. The next day Helen shows up on Alex’s doorstep with her baby goddaughter, hoping to recruit some babysitting help, but Alex is hatching plans of his own: snooping on his ex-wife and her beau. Stephen spontaneously calls an office “meeting” (i.e. party) to battle a case of loneliness and the weekend soon turns into a confusing mess.
