Rear Admiral John Godfrey

Samuel West

Godfrey was the inspiration for the character ‘M’ in the Bond series.

First described as skeptical, cantankerous and practical, Godfrey hires Ian for his position in the Navy.

He’s an old curmudgeon, with a stern manner and twinkly eye, but he warms to Fleming in due course, becoming something of a father figure to him.
