With regards to Freema joining Torchwood next year. That still remains to be seen, and the BBC in UK have said they are happy for Freema and there they are not bitter. The new series won't really be a series, it will be a mini series that is supposed to air over three nights. *sigh* Supposedly there were scheduling conflicts for Barrowman, granted, I am just happy that they are even going to do that much and we won't have to wait till 2010 for it to air.

The word "upset" cannot begin to describe how pissed off I?m if the rumors were true that BBC American won't bring in TW3. TW has been a fantastic show and it is a grave mistake not to bring it back. I also agree with the others' comments as I felt stunned that they killed Tosh & Owen in TW2. But I respect Russell's creative freedom as lead writer. Well, I read it's official. Only 5 episodes next year with only one continuing story arc. Peter Bennett, alum of both DW &TW, replaces producer Richard Stokes, and 2, as yet unamed, new cast members. Only 5...nuts.

i'm not exactly sure but is it just me or is any one else outraged by this i just got on to see when the next season would arrive and i am just appaulled by this news of the new season and what are they going to do is that going to be it i really hope not i mean is there nothing us fans can do this makes me sick to my stomach i love this show so much.

It is very nice of them to do the radio broadcast but what about us here in the US we do not get BBC radio. Kind of leaves us high and dry. Just one week of Torchwood! I am so sad.

I just had an awful thought: BBCA decides not to run the 3rd season of TW. (It could happen -- they canceled EastEnders just before a major new development -- the return of a character long thought to be dead. Despite petitions and floods of protest letters, they never ran the show, the most popular and award-winning night time soap in Britain, again.)

Ianto should be the one to step up to Tosh's station. There's no one that knows the inner workings of TW like Jones, Ianto Jones.

Tomorrow, thursday, BBCA is showing "Aliens of London", which, if I am not mistaken, is the famous "Spacepig" episode where we first meet Tosh.

Torchwood, when the strange threatens the innocent, when the weak are overshadowed by the rising dark, there is where we will stand, in the gap, on the edge, pushing back against the onslaught.

As much as it hurt to see both of them go, it is necessary to refresh the front line officers. Both were irreplaceable, but we all know that in war casualties happen. I salute the fallen, and mourn with the living. Jack, Gwen, Ianto rest up, support each other. Draw on that which is still strong. We'll all be here when you get back, waiting, praying, and hoping it was all just a dream, but knowing that it's time to wake up and live.

I dunno about not getting rid of Rhys. Gwen is pretty soft, and TW is not soft-especially with Jack around (hee hee). So, if JB ever decides to pull out of TW-oh, don't say it-they'll need someone to make the hard decisions-oh, really don't say it. Some days I just can't help myself. :) On a more solemn note, I can't watch the finale again-not for a while.

It kills me to watch Tosh and Owen's death scenes. I probably feel as much loss as Jack, Gwen, and Ianto. Fantastic performances--esp. Tosh! A quick note to those who would like to see Rhys done away with--you can't. If you do Gwen will lose her sense of compassion and empathy. His character keeps her anchored and centered. She draws strength from his character and is a check for her motivation

I watched the last ep. again yesterday and as soon as I hear Tosh saying to Owen "Stop because your breaking my heart" I start crying and can't stop until the end. It's going to be a long summer......

According to the fan site, JB was asked if TW would be back and he said yes and said he also would be back in it. I know they do work around John's schedule, hopefully it will air about the same time it did this year which was in January. Wish they did 26 episodes instead of 13.

nmb520, I am old enough, and you have it turned around. Bobby died and it turned out that his wife had dreamed it all. But that is no way to do a show. That was murder on the reruns for that season, and no foreign tv station would buy them. Dallas ran in just about every country in the free world, but not that season.

I doubt that many will remember, but when Dallas (primetime soap) was on TV, there was one entire season where the wife of one of the main characters was killed off only to have next season's opener reveal that the husband just had a bad dream.. Maybe TW could take a lesson from Dallas and bring Tosh and Owen back.

cjs7582, Rumors abound--from JB/Jack as guest star only (if's he's gone, so am I), to Gwen as leader, to fewer episodes, to the new characters, to more "child-friendly", blah, blah. It can all make you crazy if you let it. The official word on Sea. 3 would make it all stop! Let's hope it's soon.

As much as it hurts to say, Naoko has commitments with other projects at the moment. (I vaguely remember her saying something about a play in Japan). And she, herself has said that her character has died. She won't be coming back. At least not in the foreseeable future. But yes, there's definitely some wiggle room with Owen. (And my friend'll be ecstatic if he comes back).

Okay everyone I'm just as sad as everyone bout Tosh and Owen but you have to remember that was just the ending of the season. do you all remember when Owen was on the roof with Maggie she said what are you doing here you are dead you can't die twice so maybe just maybe that melt down he was in did just the reverse instead of decomposing him it brought him back to life he is the King of the weevels.

Re: Beatriceorme - rock on! Jack is, in a way, the consummate hero, but without the happy endings the movies like to give them. The man loses everyone he loves and will ever love, and yet he loves anyway. If THAT'S not courage, I don't know what is. I'm in my 30s & have buried 18 members of my family; yeah, death sucks. Love takes more guts than packing a revolver (nice though the piece may be). Jack is THE MAN! (Ianto ain't bad either!)

beatriceorme-You rock. Another brilliant voice in the wilderness who totally understands how "mainstream" media prescribes our lives, and who gets what it means to be human. I'm hopeful that one day we will not fear each other because we will not have been taught to fear each other. I probably won't live long enough to see it happen, but perhaps I've - and all of you - have laid a tiny bit of pavement on the road to where and when it happens.

Captain Jack isn't any of those things, of course - he's heroic and brave, territory that has exclusively belonged to the straight man - and that is what's so bothersome to some (read homophobes).If a gay/bi man can be strong, just like a straight man, can he, can THEY, really be so different and wrong? That and, I guess, in some twisted, convuluted, bigoted logic, to like a gay/bi man means you're gay, too.

A gay/bi man is supposed to effeminate, he's supposed to be into interior decorating or floral arrangemnet or some other arsty-fartsy line of work; he's supposed to be whiney, snarky and prance around with hands flaying in the air all the while smothered in hair care products. THAT'S what a gay/bi man is supposed to be. At least that's the picture the media gives us, 'cause THAT picture is more woman than man, therefore not a threat to the straight male ego.
