Father, son, husband, king. Like characters in a Shakespearean play, Charles and William have lived through more tragedy and change than most families can ever contemplate: the death of a mother, the alienation of a wife, and a lover in the background continuously. Somehow these striking events have not broken the love of these two men – father and son. The film goes inside their relationship and attempts to discover how, through all this adversity, the two have remained so visibly fond of each other.
