British Singer Sues Beyonce Knowles

This just in from Digital Spy: British singer Des'ree has filed suit against Beyoncé Knowles, claiming the singer/actress covered her song "I'm Kissing You" without her permission:
Des'ree yesterday filed the case at Manhattan Federal Court, with the intention of stopping the distribution of the song. She is also demanding $150,000 in damages.

The two parties originally communicated over the possibility of the cover but Knowles decided to forgo the negotiations and record the song anyway, according to Des'ree.
Wow, that is cold, if true. Not that surprising, though. For most people, the only surprise is that Des'ree had a song other than "You Gotta Be."
