It takes a lot more than elbow grease to win this challenge. In a completely original new show, UK TV personality Anthea Turner - Britain's answer to Martha Stewart - mentors two hopeless contestants, who compete for the title of "The Perfect Housewife."
Each week Anthea invites two contestants to her stunning English countryside estate - where every towel is artfully folded, every shoebox clearly labeled, to learn the skills they need to become domestic gods and goddesses. Anthea's training includes, lessons in how to get rid of carpet indentations (ice cubes), deodorize your sneakers (tea leaves), host the perfect event, plus the many uses of wicker baskets.
The contestants return home with Anthea's helpful hints and use these tools to turn their dungeons of dirt to palaces of perfection. At the end of the show, not only will their homes be scrutinized by Anthea and her white glove test, but each contestant must host an event. Whether they choose a cocktail, dinner or children's party, the pressure's on as they attempt to pull off a picture-perfect event that meets Anthea's exacting standards.
After all the tips and training, will the contestants transform from domestic disasters into domestic delights? Or are Anthea's standards just too high?
