They have inspired wild yells from musical millions and gasps of horror from the establishment. In this lively programme we hear from their contemporaries, fans and critics about the songs, the scandals, the crises and the excesses and we see the news footage and interviews that helped make them who they are - after over 40 years, 24 albums and 437 songs they are still both the most famous and most infamous band of all.
