Gisborne and the Sheriff had taken Marian as a hostage on their mission to murder King Richard. We had to find her and save the King, which meant only one thing – we were going back to the Holy Land. It wasn’t easy being back in Acre; I began to feel funny, shaky. As we walked through the King’s camp, we saw all the young soldiers and they reminded me so much of us. Robin and me…ah, those were good times. There was no doubt that those days were filled with death, destruction, and hunger - but good days nonetheless.
We met with the King and told him of the Sheriff’s plan to murder him. We expected him to be grateful but to our surprise he thought it was actually US who had come to kill him! He asked why would we come all the way to the Holy Land to ‘protect him’, when a few well-placed arrows by a master marksman could have accomplished the same feat in Nottingham? He wouldn’t hear us out. He sentenced us to die, but not directly at his hand – Robin had saved his life once so he said he’d have the desert decide. We were tied up, and left to broil in the hot sun. In that heat, with no water, we wouldn’t last long. Before I lost all my strength, I wanted to tell everyone how much I loved them…I do love them, they are my family. Suddenly Marian appeared on the horizon. I thought I was hallucinating – but then I realized we couldn’t all be hallucinating – as she got closer we realized with despair that the Sheriff was with her. He happily delivered her to die with her beloved Robin and then he rode off to kill the King.
Robin and Marian exchanged marriage vows in front of us; the best witnesses England had to offer. There was nothing to lose now…it was very moving. I couldn’t help but cry. Then, I heard a different voice speaking – it was Carter! I hadn’t liked him before but now I loved him! He freed us from our binds and together we rode off to save the King who was very surprised to see us. It appeared the desert had decided and we had won! We all agreed that Robin was going to pose as the King who was set to meet Saladin it was certain to be an ambush and we weren’t disappointed. We watched from the dunes above, along with King Richard who then realized we were telling the truth. We had to help save Robin, he was in over his head, and the Sheriff was out to kill the King no matter what. We split up to divide and conquer, not knowing if we’d all turn out all right.
Many shots were fired. First the Sheriff killed Carter! Then he shot an arrow through the King. But the worst was yet to come. Marian stood between Gisborne and the wounded King. Gisborne was going to finish him off. He told Marian that once the King was dead he’d have power beyond his wildest dreams and make her his wife… but Marian laughed at him. She said that she’d rather die than be with him; she finally admitted that she’d rather die than be with him, and that she loved Robin Hood. It was all too much for him to take and then in a fit of blind rage, he buried his sword in her guts. When we saw her lying there we couldn’t believe it. Robin was beside himself. He tried to keep her calm. They both exchanged final wedding vows, and he gave her a ring, and kissed her. Then when they were officially husband and wife, she removed the sword from her body and faded away. I think a piece of Robin will be lost forever. We buried both Marian and Carter near some palm trees and bid them farewell. Those weren’t the only ones we’d leave in the Holy Land - Djaq and Will remained behind to build a life there together. As for us, the King bid us farewell and sent us back to England with honor. Our beloved Marian was lost but our mission continues – for every man there is a purpose which he sets up in his life, let yours be the doing of all good deeds.

If it wasn't a dream sequence; the writers could still bring Marion back. In the finale, you saw only one grave. Robin laid Marion down and in the next scene the gang was leaving for England. They never buried her in front of us. Perhaps it was a ploy to fool the sheriff & Guy; just pretend ing she's dead. Then Robin won't have to worry about her always living in fear for her life. The sheriff would have executed her for trying to kill him.
Maybe you in England have watched for two years but we on the other side of the pond have had to play catch up. Killing Marion is almost grounds for an international incident. Ending the sweet romance and doing away with any female role modelis just too similar to the Disney formula for me.
This version was at one time a very well done show. The characters are easy to like and cheer for - even the sheriff in his more manic moments and with his gay-crush on Guy and Guy without a clue. To do THIS, however, is to shred the show. I can't imagine how they will bring it back with any kind of dignity. Not that we Yanks will be given the chance if the rumors are correct. Maybe it's time to turn the telly's off if this is how we as fans are to be treated?
Killing Marion changes the storyline drastically....in fact, the story simply ends. Robin and Marion are the vibrant thread that weaves through the beautiful"legend"...now for me, the legend dies...and we are left with a cowboy story along the line of Josie Wales or Unforgiven.....one black, thin thread. Come on writers...fix this literary suicide.
Ok. Killing her is just wrong!!!! They can't do that!!! It defeats the entire purpose of the show!!! And she's not coming back!! You wouldn't live if you had a sword stuck through you and then pulled it out YOURSELF!!!!! And is it true that they're not going to air the show in the U.S. at all!!! I'm just getting more pissed at these people by the minute!!! They ruined it. And how can they not bring Armstrong, that's 3 strikes, I'm not watching, they just lost they're #1 viewer
I also think it sucks that Marian died... but think of the great animosity between Guy and Robin now! Ho! I think Guy finally did something he truly regrets... it'll be interesting to see what happens with that... Honestly, Guy is my favorite...
I cannot beleive you guys killed Marion! Has anyone ever read the original Robin Hood book! I used to miss slumber parties, Family movie night, and homework to watch this show. What made you people think you can ruin it by killing one of the best characters. How can you even dare to make a 3rd Season. People want to see Marion ALIVE. not DEAD. Pleas BBC, find a way to bring her back!!!
According to BBC UK, we get to keep Jonas until the end of season 3. How dare they not air it in the US! They are just costing the show fans. Guess I will be checking YouTube in January!
