New surgical resident Dr.Caroline Todd arrives for her first day at work, uncoiffed and under deodorixed,
having spent the night in her car. Her day continues to be hygienically and professionally challenging as
she meets her new medical and administrative colleagues.
But who are the good guys and who are the bad guys? And what sort of guy is Guy Secretan, the smooth talking
anesthesiologist? Tricked into staying the night at his apartment, she concludes her mismanaged day by
blocking his toilet with a "monster that won't go down."
Caroline spends the day quashing gossip about her innocent night at Guy's apartment. Guy spends the day
un-quashing them. What are the chances of him blurting out some dark secret? Very high, apparently.
Radiology guru Dr. Alan Statham enjoys the swirl of his white coat, and intern Martin Dear devotes valuable
study time to pursuing a yogurt thief - and a woman. Any woman.
HR Director, Joanna Clore, is worried about her age, while her dangerous liaison with Alan Statham is now
in danger of becoming tedious. She demands spontaneity and Statham agrees to give it some thought.
Meanwhile, Mac discovers his 'not-ready-to-have-kids-yet' ex-girlfriend is now pregnant. He takes a
relatively philosophical view of this â?? apart from the stabbing incident. Caroline is looking for a roommate,
and isn't too fussy as long as it's not someone like Angela. Which is a shame, because Angela is looking for
accommodation.
What does a man get the woman he worships for her birthday? Would it be a locket filled with his own love
juice? Joanna tries to play down the passing of another year, but is delighted to receive a gift that she
thinks is from gorgeous IT guru Lyndon Jones. Too bad it's from less-than-gorgeous radiology guru Alan
Statham.
A major incident rocks the hospital when Caroline's butt is given a score of four out of ten and Angela's
gets an eight. They discover that Guy has thoughtfully compiled a multi-category league table that rates
all the attractive women in the hospital. Confronted with this childish sexism, it's time for Guy to reveal
his true sensitivity. He blames it all on Mac.
Martin is desperate, not just generally, although that's obviously still the case. But this time he worried
that he hasn't got anything to wear to Caroline's housewarming party. He needs a calming influence, a voice
of reason, someone with a keen eye for fashion. However, it's Sue White who offers to take him clothes
shopping.
Will people do things at the party that they'll regret? They probably will, especially Caroline.
Elsewhere, Joanna has rashly demanded more mystery from her allegedly secret lover, so Statham overcomes
a mild wool allergy to don a balaclava and kidnap Joanna, forcing her at finger-point to drive to a secret
destination in the wilderness.
Both Joanna and Harriet are forced to visit the path lab because they are convinced they are pregnant.
Martin sits his medical exams for the hundredth time, and Mac surreptitiously attends an interview for a
promotion. Caroline's character is also being scrutinized, as the extent of her party misdemeanors is
gradually revealed.
Statham is dealt a massive double blow as his extravagant plans for imminent fatherhood are dashed when
the ever-gracious Joanna finally kicks him to the curb. His hitherto ordered and sophisticated mind begins
to fall to pieces. So much so, that for the first time in his life, he steals a milk van.
Caroline wants a baby but she's confused. Is Guy a good guy or the bad guy? And what about Mac?
Meanwhile, Martin gets his exam results and Guy hires a hit man to finish off Mac's good looks. Statham
finds comfort in God â?? or is it the attractive chaplain, Cordelia?
Martin loves Caroline. Caroline loves Mac. So does Sue White. Mac has a girlfriend. Statham loves Jesus,
or is it the chaplain? Joanna loves Lyndon. Guy loves Guy but pretends to love Caroline. The charity slave
auction sorts them all out.
Joanna is desperate to lure Statham away from Jesus, and Caroline is desperate to lure Mac away from his
girlfriend and Sheffield. Mac challenges Guy to one final bet: he can't bed Joanna. Martin discovers some
knee-trembling news and things escalate towards a tragedy of Ancient Greek proportions, as we head for the
precipice...
