Described as "so beloved in Britain that she makes Katie Couric look downright unpopular," by the New York Times, Carol Smillie, a former fashion model, broke into television as the assistant on the British "Wheel of Fortune." She has since gone on to present numerous BBC shows.
Carol has presented Changing Rooms since it was launched in the UK in 1996. "I've taken lots of tips home," she says. "I love making terrible things look nice. I've actually upholstered my own three-piece suite – I can't believe I did that."
In 2003, Carol decided it was time to leave Changing Rooms. "It's time to move on, for me anyway," she said. "I don't think I can give it anymore." |
