Straight-talking "Handy" Andy - the nickname was his wife's idea - has been with Changing Rooms since it first began. An integral part of the team, without his skills, Changing Rooms wouldn't be possible and not half as much fun.
After Linda Barker invited him to take part in the show, "Handy" Andy was literally transformed overnight into British TV's Mr. DIY. With many years of experience working as a carpenter and joiner since leaving school, Andy readily admits to not having much patience for designers' flights of fancy. He says: "a.) they've never done it before, and b.) they'd never have it in their own house." Andy brings a much needed touch of common sense to Changing Rooms.
Andy also hosts the BBC America shows Garden Rivals and Room Rivals. |
