Rose Tyler

Rose was The Doctor's traveling companion in Season 2. Rose was a shop girl from the present day. From the moment they met, the Doctor and Rose were soul mates. As they traveled through history and across the universe, the Doctor showed Rose things beyond her imagination. She started out as an innocent, fettered by earthly concerns.

Though Billie's initial interest was in acting, she first came to the public's attention as a pop star. When she was chosen as poster girl for an ad campaign for Smash Hits magazine in 1997, record label scouts spotted her and signed her immediately. With her first release, the 15-year-old Piper became the youngest solo artist to debut at #1 in the U.K. singles charts. By the time she turned 16, Piper had released four singles that all made the Top Three in the charts. She was nominated for two BRIT Awards in 1999, for Best British Newcomer and Best British Female. Piper guest-starred on the television series Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Young Entertainers, and she also had bit parts in the movies The Leading Man and Evita. She most recently starred in Showtime's Secret Diary of a Call Girl.
