The creator and star of “Katy Brand’s Big Ass Show,” the brash and hilarious Katy Brand has perfected knee-slapping spoofs based on Angelina Jolie, a bossy teenage Kate Moss, and Kate Winslet.
Additionally, other character roles such as the booze-lovin’ Caroline Little Treats, phony anchorwoman Cherie, and the tough Capt. Rosie Fielding have put her on the map as one of Britain’s most popular funny ladies. To boot, she grabbed the “Best Female Newcomer” title at the 2008 British Comedy Awards.
Some of Brand’s television credits include “Casualty,” “Peep Show,” and most recently “Mongrels,” a British puppet comedy series, which featured her voice-over as the street-smart and cynical pigeon, Kali. She and her comedy sidekick Katherine Parkinson also collaborated on the BBC Radio 4 series, “Mouth Trap.” In 2010, Brand forayed her talents to the silver screen, playing Miss Turvey in “Nanny McPhee Returns.”
