While Galactica guards the mining ship Majahual as it extracts essential metals from an asteroid, Viper pilots keep having deadly encounters with a particularly seasoned Cylon Raider nicknamed Scar. Hiding out in the asteroid belt, Scar is a master of hit-and-run attacks that are decimating the war-weary Viper squadrons.

A fierce competition breaks out between Starbuck and Kat over who will finally bring down the Raider, and tempers flare as Kat criticizes Starbuck’s erratic behavior, fueled by heavy drinking to suppress her relentless demons.
