Number Eight has a stubborn capacity to love and becomes attached to human relationships. Humans first encounter her as Sharon “Boomer” Valerii, a Galactica Raptor pilot who betrays the humans—against her will—as a sleeper agent. Another copy, known as Athena, strikes up a romantic relationship with Helo and remains committed to him, swearing her loyalty to the humans—in spite of their doubts.
