Liam Neeson is limbering up for his next high-octane role – in an action-thriller from GoldenEye and Casino Royale director Martin Campbell.
Titled Memory, the movie is based on the 2003 Dutch film The Memory Of A Killer. In what sounds like a very Liam Neeson role, the Irish actor will play a seriously accomplished assassin who becomes a target himself after refusing to complete his latest job for a dangerous crime syndicate.
His only option? To hunt down the former employers who now want him dead. Are you gripped already?
According to Deadline, Campbell is due to start shooting in August from a script by Dario Scardapane (The Bridge).
Memory is definitely a change of pace from Neeson’s latest film, Ordinary Love, a poignant romantic drama in which he co-stars opposite Lesley Manville. You can read our exclusive interview with Manville, which includes her thoughts on working with Neeson, here.
Prolific as ever, Neeson has two other movies in the pipeline: crime thriller Honest Thief, due in theaters September, and Made in Italy, a comedy in which he co-stars opposite former Doctor Who guest star Lindsay Duncan. The latter’s release date is still “tbd.”
You can watch him talking about a role that got away on The Graham Norton Show below.
