We’ve already seen Sharon Horgan get romantic – oh so relatably – in Catastrophe, the awesome TV series she co-created and starred in with Rob Delaney. Now the Irish actress has landed a romantic movie role opposite Vince Vaughn (Wedding Crashers, The Break-Up) in The Last Drop.

Horgan will play a “spirited” woman named Holly who makes a living by tracking down rare and undervalued items for her antique shop. Vaughn will star as Clay, the host of a cooking show whose hard-partying lifestyle is beginning to become “debilitating.”

The movie is described by TheWrap as a “romantic dramedy,” so it seems safe to presume that sparks will fly between the two characters. Also, we’ll surely get to see Horgan deploying her super-sharp comic timing, which can only be a good thing.

Christopher Story (Ramy) is directing from a script by Brandon and Phillip Murphy and Elizabeth Chomko (What They Had). In a statement, Alex Walton of financiers Endeavor Content said: “The Last Drop is a beautifully written script that authentically depicts modern-day romance, and Vince and Sharon are both highly accomplished performers who will strike the perfect balance between comedy and drama.”

The Last Drop looks like another classy addition to Horgan’s already-impressive résumé. As well as co-creating Catastrophe, she created the TV series Divorce and Pulling, and is now working on an untitled female-driven horror-comedy series. She’s collaborating with Trial & Error co-creator Jeff Astrof on that one.
