Sir Michael Caine has signed up to play Fagin in a new big screen adaptation of Oliver Twist.

Simply titled Twist, the movie is being billed as a “modern interpretation” of the classic Charles Dickens story. The title character is being reimagined as a “streetwise artist living on the streets of modern-day London,” makers Sky said in a press release.

Raff Law – son of Jude Law and actress Sadie Frost – will play the title character in what will be his perfect significant acting role. He previously made a brief appearance in his dad’s 2010 movie Repo Man.

Meanwhile, Game of Thrones actress Lena Headey will play Sikes, a gender-swapped version of Fagin’s business partner, who was written by Dickens as a man named Bill Sikes.

Caine said of the role: “Fagin is such an infamous character, it’s going to be great fun playing him. I’m really looking forward to working with Lena, Raff and the rest of the cast in London when we start shooting.”

The rest of the cast includes singer-actress Rita Ora, Little Britain‘s David Williams, Franz Drameh (Legends of Tomorrow), and Sophie Simnett (Daybreak). Director Martin Owen (Killers Anonymous, The Intergalactic Adventures of Max Cloud) is due to start shooting in London this fall, and the movie counts Doctor Who alum Noel Clarke among its producers.

At 86, two-time Oscar winner Caine is hardly showing down. His other upcoming projects include Tenet, the typically mysterious new movie from Christopher Nolan, and Peter Pan/Alice in Wonderland prequel Come Away, in which he appears opposite Angelina Jolie and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.
