If you’re getting an Office vibe from the headline alone, you’re not wrong to do so. The forthcoming series Space Force is being led by Steve Carell and Greg Daniels, who collaborated to bring Ricky Gervais‘s The Office to American viewers.

Carell will be helping out with writing duties and also starring in the work place comedy. He won’t be going it alone with John Malkovich just recently signing on to co-star, according to ComingSoon.net.

According to the official synopsis, the series revolves around a group of worker bees, living on Earth, who are assigned with the task of coming up with a sixth branch of the armed services. Space Force will be in addition to the army, navy, marines, air force and coast guard. What this intergalactic military organization will battle is yet to be disclosed.

Carell and Malkovich’s roles haven’t been confirmed, as the script hasn’t been written, but we picture Carell as the team leader and Malkovich as a space ship captain. From there… anything is possible.

As if Carell and Malkovich aren’t enough of a draw, we can also look for House of Lies star Ben Schwartz. The cast is rounded out with other comedian all-stars like Diana Silvers, Jimmy O. Yang, Tawny Newsome and Alex Sparrow.

We have an inkling you’ve all seen The Office, but just to be safe, here’s a peek at the trailer for season one:

Space Force is heading to Netflix, but a premiere date has yet to be announced.

Hmm… what do you think about a Dwight-like alien invader??
