Don Cheadle (House of Lies) has signed on to star in the short-form series Don’t Look Deeper, available for streaming via the Quibi mobile service, reports ComingSoon.net.

Lost co-creator Jeffrey Lieber will write and act as showrunner. The series revolves around a high school senior who’s living 15 minutes into the future. It’s not just that she has a head start on the rest of the world, but she has this sneaky feeling that she’s not human.

The official description doesn’t provide any hints as to what “not human” means, but it could be interpreted as her being a robot, an alien, a… hybrid?? If it goes beyond, say otherworldly, then we’d be getting in the supernatural.

Cheadle’s role has yet to be announced. This is completely speculative, but we could see him acting as a high school teacher or some sort of guide to this teen time traveler…or perhaps even a foe?!

We can also look for Emily Mortimer (Mary Poppins Returns) and Helena Howard (Madeline’s Madeline). Twilight‘s Catherine Hardwicke will be handling directing duties.

Quibi is set to launch on April 6, 2020. The entire series will run about two to four hours, but will be released in 10-minute snippets.

SundanceTV recently aired its own short-form series State of the Union, starring Chris O’Dowd and Rosamund Pike

You can also look for Cheadle in the upcoming Netflix series Ratched, based on the classic novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, also starring Sarah Paulson and Judy Davis.

Have you tried out the new short-form, yet? What’d you think!?
